Katekyoushi Hitman Reborn by Fujii
The iconic story of a zero becoming a hero…in the world of the mafia.
Starting off much like other manga, and anime made for boys, Reborn has you follow the story of Tsunayoshi Sawada (No Good Tsuna) a young middle school student who essentially sucks at everything. Of course if this were to continue throughout the entire series you’d probably give up quite soon, thus enters Reborn a baby and the world’s greatest assassin turned tutor aiming to make Tsuna the mafia boss of the Vongola family in no time! Using nontraditional methods the pair will recruit Family members, and battle those awkward teenage years and rival mafioso’s.
Both the anime and manga progress towards the same overall storyline for the most part, and that story is interesting. Beginning with comedic tones, the beginning of the series moves quickly introducing key characters that soon become familiar and easy to connect with. After familiarizing the reader with the characters you’re drawn into the elaborate battles where the art style truly shines showing off the amazing technique of Akira Amano. What’s most like-able about this shows battles are that unlike most battle manga and anime this show’s battles have purpose driven by the story and you can understand the motivation going into the struggle. So if you’re looking for a good steady paced series with good art, great characters, and even better story give Tsuna and his mafia family a spin.
