Historys Strongest Disciple …Kenichi

Historys Strongest Disciple Kenichi, not to be confused with Historys Strongest Disciple… which is the same manga… wait…WTF?

Ok so Historys Strongest Disciple came first spanning 28 chapters. Its a good read but the whole thing is retold again in Historys Strongest Disciple Kenichi.

The story follows Kenichi Shirahama a 16 year old freshman who’s spent his whole life being picked on until one day he sees a girl being ganged up on by a group of thugs. Wanting to protect her he confronts the thugs only to get smacked around and to find out that standing up to them was completely unnecessary because Miu Furinji is a girl that can handle herself.

Wanting to become stronger Kenichi follows Miu back to her home that turns out to be a dojo called the Ryōzanpaku. A collection of martial arts masters that follow the Katsujin-ken (life saving fist) style of martial arts. Kenichi becomes a disciple of Ryōzanpaku and learns from each of the dojo’s martial arts master.

History Strongest Disciple follows Kenchi’s path as he takes on an elite high school gang. Historys Strongest Disciple Kenichi retells the high school gang arc and introduces a bigger enemy. Yomi, a dark group of martial artist that follow the path of Satsujin-ken (Killing fist) and the battle between Yomi’s disciples and little Kenichi.

Its a fun read with good character progression and with characters like Miu Furinji and Shigure Kosaka There’s plenty of fan service as well.
