End of Katamari Damacy?

Game designer Keita Takahashi leaves Namco Bandai Games to pursue projects out side of the gaming industry.

Several interviews with Takahashi over the years have hinted to the recent events. Infact back in 05′ Takahashi said straight out in a BBC interview that he would not be making games 10 years from now. That along with his comments about E3 2010, stating that the industry’s direction doesn’t interest him anymore. So It’s not really surprising that he left. My only concern is what is going to happen to the series now that Takahashi is gone. I mean, it’s true that the latest releases of the series haven’t really held up to the charm of the original Katamari Damacy but they still haven’t given me the game mode I truly wanted. An actual endless mode where you start off picking up small debris and end up picking up entire continents. Heck, why end there go for the entire planet and start rolling across the galaxy. Oh well, we’ll have to wait and see what Namco Bandai cook up. In the mean time good luck to Takahashi in his future endeavors and thanks for the memories.
