Where the Wild Things Are DS

Hey, it’s not that bad… considering its a movie game.

The story of the game some what follows the book. Max has a fight with his mom a goes off to an island with monsters. The monsters spread through out the island and are apparently upset. It’s up to Max to search them out and calm them down.

Game play is pretty smooth with simple controls. Run, jump, and growl are pretty much all of Max’s moves. When Max growls at a small monster it will become stunned and then Max can pick it up and throw it at other monsters or obstacles. There is a collection aspect to each level with hidden scepters tokens. When you find all of the tokens in a level you get a “Scepter achievement”, see Xbox doesn’t have a monopoly on achievements.

This game is nothing great but it’s put together well enough. I had fun with the little time that I spent with it.
